Are you an author, co-author, illustrator or photographer? Then this is the site for you. You can create your own profile webpage at FiledBy.com that will not only help you with search engine optimization and get links back to your own website, but you'll also have a very specifc profile to feature what you do and your specific content.

Seth Godin has a biography page set up with all of his key links. FiledBy.com is a membership site with three levels of membership service for authors: Free, Premium and Premium Plus. The service is free to Readers, just simply complete the login if you want to comment on authors webpages and you can create author and book lists.

FiledBy.com has built-in social networking and bookmarking links at the bottom of each page, so an authors webpage can be posted quickly and easily to other social networks. This makes it an even better tool for word-of-mouth marketing / viral marketing. Videos can be posted as well.

Takes literally just seconds. And because it's an image, you can also add a hyperlink to it as well. Looking for a job? Got the traditional resume? Need a resume that will stand out? Look no further than this online resume tool from VisualCV. You can import your data from your LinkedIn account to help you begin to fill out your profile, you can add interactive data (slide shows, etc.) and you can even download it to a PDF to email your resume to potential employers.

Even if you're not in the job market but perhaps you're a small business owner or speaker, this is an excellent tool to help you build your brand as well as to gain SEO value. Very easy program to work with, even to add your work samples, charts and graphs, audio, video and images. Wow, a great personal profile page with many uses.

And if you're not ready to take the time to set the entire profile up right now, at least reserve your name for your custom URL, add your photo and the basics. I take this step on many sites, even if I'm not ready to fully utilize them at the moment I find them. Most often, as is the case with VisualCV, it takes just minutes to do the account set up.

Facebook Takes Aim at Twitter: New Publisher Makes Public Status Updates Easy

Did you notice that your Facebook status is a bit different? Notice the "lock" icon when you post an update? Facebook is now giving you the option to broaden the viewing of your updates beyond your Friends, and you can customize it for each status update you write.

Are you aware that LinkedIn has a similar setting? You can't customize it for each update but you can change the settings in order to broaden your message to more people outside of your connections. Once you log on, go to Account & Settings (top right), look under Settings and find "Status Availability." Status always defaults to your Connections but you can open it up to your Network or to Everyone. I recommend choosing Everyone in order for you to get more traction from your updates. Similar settings are available for your "Member Feed" and you can find that right below the "Status Availability."

Welcome to HootSuite, the ultimate Twitter toolbox -...

Especially made for those who are managing personal and business Twitter accounts, have multiple accounts for different businesses or who manage multiple accounts for their clients or within their own company, HootSuite solves the problem of having to log-in and log-off of various Twitter accounts. You can now simply manage all accounts - and just about all aspects of Twitter -- from one dashboard. Tweetdeck is great if you are managing just one account but it didn't work well for me. HootSuite also gives you the ability to have one administrator but allows you to assign additional editors/writers.

Take a look at the Hootlet, too. Great toolbar app so you can easily tweet about a web page you're visiting - and you can do it from any one of the accounts you're managing in one simple step.

There's only one thing that I've not been able to figure out yet -- and that is how to initiate a direct message (DM) to someone who hasn't DM'd me. Also, I don't think it manages auto-replies and that would be a nice feature as I do DR copy testing for some clients and eliminate the auto-replies for others. The good news is that it seems like new features are continually being added so HootSuite will get even better in the months ahead. HootSuite is being used by larger companies such as National Geographic and active Tweeters like Guy Kawasaki. Check it out and let me know what you think. Would love to hear your feedback on the user interface.

Variations of the buttons exist to match your website or brand colors. SocialTwist has included so many ways for people to share your webpage that this one button does it all.
